Fair Trade Music, a grassroots campaign of Northwest musicians, will hold a general meeting -- open to all musicians -- to discuss the treatment of club musicians, who often don't even make minimum wage, and the need to build a more equal partnership between clubs and musicians. To mark the 77th anniversary of Social Security, area retirees with the Washington State Alliance for Retired Americans will celebrate this important birthday at the Teamsters Hall, 14675 Interurban Ave. S., Tukwila, on Wednesday, Aug. 22 by holding an Intergenerational Luncheon Program from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their Annual Convention. The luncheon will feature testimony from youth advocates, senior activists, national leaders and others about the importance of preserving, protecting and improving Social Security.
