Join Inslee, legislative leaders at WSLC events this week
At the Legislative Conference, which begins at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, participants will hear from Gov. Jay Inslee, Labor & Industries Director Joel Sacks, Employment Security Commissioner Dale Peinecke, and several state legislative leaders, including a panel to discuss the critical issues of transportation and education funding. In addition, WSLC lobbyists will deliver an update on the status of labor’s agenda and bills affecting working families. The conference adjourns after lunch and participants will then go to the Capitol to meet with their legislators about these issues.
Wednesday night’s Legislative Reception, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., is a great opportunity to talk informally with legislators, state officials and other trade unionists. The entire staff of The Stand will be attending as well and welcomes your feedback, suggestions and extra drink tickets.
The registration fee for both events is $75 per person, which includes two drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the reception and lunch and materials at the conference. If you want to bring additional guests to the reception, there is a $15 per person fee. Pre-registration is now closed, but register is available at the door. Registration tables for the conference will open at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. To avoid the reception and conference registration lines, early registration is available in the hotel lobby beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
