Support pro-worker candidates at Labor Neighbor FUN Banks

Also, make sure your union is represented at Biden-Harris FUN Bank on Oct. 5

Last week, delegates representing unions from across Washington state completed the endorsements of the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO by voting on which candidates have earned the support of organized labor in the Nov. 3 general election. (Here is the complete list of WSLC endorsements.)

Now with the election just 35 days away, the WSLC’s Labor Neighbor program is kicking into high gear to support champions of working people up and down the ballot.

Labor Neighbor is the WSLC’s grassroots political action program where union members contact other union members to inform them which candidates have earned labor’s support and urge them to vote in the fast-approaching election. The COVID-19 pandemic has curtailed the program’s usual neighborhood walks and worksite leafleting, so instead union volunteers are making thousands of phone calls at the Labor Neighbor FUN Banks.

TAKE A STAND — Union volunteers, working from the safety and comfort of their own homes, are needed Tuesdays through Thursdays 5-7 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon for the FUN Banks. Register today and the WSLC will contact you with details about how to participate.

ALSO, join WSLC Secretary Treasurer April Sims for a special FUN bank calling Minnesota union members in support of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Monday, Oct. 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. PST.  Make sure your union is represented! Please register here.

The stakes are too high in this election for working people to sit out. Join other union volunteers to support pro-worker candidates who’ll support working families on important bread-and-butter issues like health care, good wages, workplace safety, and protecting essential workers during this pandemic.
