Shuler, Walsh to be featured at COSHCON2021. Register now!

The 10th annual National Conference on Worker Safety and Health, or COSHCON2021, will be held Dec. 7-9 and Dec. 14-16. This year’s virtual event will kick off with welcoming remarks from AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler and U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, plus multiple hands-on interactive workshops.

COSHCON2021 brings together a diverse, inclusive and bilingual group of workers, occupational health and safety experts, unions, activists and academics united around common goals. They join together to celebrate and encourage workers’ power, make our workplaces safer, and reduce the toll of on-the-job injuries, illnesses and fatalities.

Click here to register. Those who register before Nov. 30 can do so for $90, a 10% discount. Conference sessions will begin at 9 a.m. Pacific time each day and conclude at 5 p.m., with plenty of breaks built in. During this virtual event, you can select the sessions that best fit your schedule.

Here is sampling of what COSHCON2021 has to offer:

  • Shifting the narrative: from blaming the worker to mobilizing for health and safety: How we talk about preventable workplace tragedies matters. We’ll explore the importance of moving away from “the accident” to building worker power.
  • Tools to identify workplace hazards: From body mapping to heat exposure to conducting interviews and surveys, participants will walk away with the tools they need to help make their workplaces safer.
  • Digital organizing: The average person checks their phone dozens of times a day which means the opportunity is ripe for workers to have organizing conversations with people who have NEVER talked to an organizer before. Learn the tools to mobilize workers online.
