Teamsters rally at Costco headquarters
Teamsters brought their contract fight to Costco’s Issaquah headquarters, reminding shareholders of the workers’ demands
ISSAQUAH, WA (January 24, 2025) — Costco Teamsters rallied outside the company’s corporate headquarters on Thursday, bringing their fight for the strongest possible contract to the annual shareholders meeting. With a contract expiring at the end of the month, the workers made clear they are prepared to walk if the company fails to deliver.

Earlier this week, Teamsters across the country voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike at Costco if an acceptable agreement isn’t reached by the January 31 deadline. In a statement following the vote, the Teamsters described the strike authorization as “a direct result of the company’s continued failure to bargain constructively and refusal to present a fair contract offer that reflects the company’s record-breaking profits.”
The Costco Teamsters National Master Agreement covers over 18,000 workers nationwide, including those in Washington State represented by Teamsters Local 174.
Costco Teamsters previously rallied in Sumner, Washington, where they called attention to Costco’s historic profits. Per the union, Costco reported $254 billion in revenue and $7.4 billion in net profits in 2024 – a significant increase from $6.3 billion in 2023 and a 135 percent jump from 2018. In actions across the U.S., Costco Teamsters are calling out the company for so far refusing to offer a contract that reflects its massive profit margin and rewards the workers who make this success possible.
