Five day labor school offered for union members in the Spokane area

SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (April 9, 2025) — Are you a union member in or near the Spokane Valley wanting to dive more deeply into all aspects of union work? From April 23rd – 27th, The Spokane Regional Labor Council and the WA Labor Education and Research Center will offer their annual 5 day labor school, Unions 101, for Rank and File union members.

The labor school starts Wednesday, April 23 with a class from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., followed by eight hour classes Thursday through Saturday, with graduation Sunday. at the UA Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 44 Union Hall (3915 E Main Ave, Spokane, WA 99202).

The course will cover essential skills for building up your union, organizing your coworkers, and leading movements for social change in and outside of the workplace. We’ll be talking about communications, grievance handling, combatting economic inequality, and more.
