SBWU: Delete the App day of action
Union Starbucks baristas are asking for community support for a day of action, turning up the heat as they look to get back to the table with the company
(March 18, 2026) — On unfair labor practice strike since November of 2025, the 12,000 union baristas that make up Starbucks Workers United (SBWU) have put out the ask to supporters to participate in a day of action on March 21, stopping by not-yet-union stores and urging customers to both stop buying Starbucks until a fair contract is won and delete the Starbucks app off their phones.
Baristas’ strike is at a pivotal moment. After months on the picket line, SBWU sent a fresh contract proposal to management last week. Terms include a wage floor of $17 an hour, annual wage increases of 4%, resolution of hundreds of outstanding unfair labor practices, staffing commitments, a grievance process, and more. Reports indicate contract negotiations may restart at the end of March.
Baristas have continued to organize new stores throughout the months-long strike. More than 675 locations are now union, uniting more than 12,000 workers nationwide. While the organizing wins keep coming, so do unfair labor practices by the company. SBWU has filed more than 30 new ULPs since the start of the strike, including ULPs related to union busting.
As workers continue to hold the line against a company that’s one of the worst violators of labor law in modern history, supporters can help keep the pressure on Starbucks corporate by joining the Delete the App day of action this weekend.
From Starbucks Workers United:
Starbucks baristas across the country are organizing for a fair union contract and an end to union busting.
On Saturday, March 21, we’re hosting a National Day of Action to show up at non-union Starbucks stores, talk to customers, and invite them to take two steps: stop buying Starbucks and delete the app. Every conversation is a chance to grow solidarity and build pressure for a fair agreement.
You only need 1–3 people per event – so if your group typically turns out more, we’d love for you to volunteer to cover multiple stores to increase the number of locations we’re able to reach.
SBWU provides a map on the registration page to help locate a corporate, not-yet-union store. Once registered, participants will get an email with a how-to toolkit, flyers, and links to a short training to help prepare.
TAKE A STAND: sign up to participate in the Delete the App day of action on March 21.
