WSLC announces 2026 Labor & Immigration Summit

Biennial summit focused on workers and immigrant rights brings together rank and file union members from across the state

TACOMA, WA (March 9, 2026) — Violent and inhuman immigration enforcement is endangering workers and workplaces across the country. Many union members are grappling with difficult questions: How do we protect our coworkers? How do we defend our rights on the job? How do we stand together when any group of workers is targeted?

In a moment where immigrant rights and defending immigrant workers is top of mind for many, the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO’s Labor and Immigration Committee is convening its third biennial Labor & Immigration Summit on April 18, 2026. Convening under the theme, “The Fight for Solidarity Across Every Border,” the summit is an opportunity for union members to gather to learn, strategize, and grow community with one another. Together, participants will build the knowledge, tools, and solidarity needed to defend and protect our fellow working people.

At the summit, participants will:

– Learn about workplace rights and constitutional protections that apply to all workers

– Gain practical tools unions can use to support and protect members and coworkers

– Hear from unions and advocates working at the intersection of labor and immigrant rights

– Connect with fellow union members from across Washington State

– Help strengthen the solidarity that makes our labor movement powerful

The 2026 Labor & Immigration Summit will convene on Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m (doors open at 9:00 a.m.). To ensure as many union workers can participate as possible, interpretation is available. Registration is required — register online today.
