APALA: From Hiroshima to Hope webinar

The following is from APALA Seattle Chapter:

SEATTLE, WA (July 29, 2026) — Join the APALA Seattle Chapter for a virtual panel on Thursday, July 30 at 6:00 p.m. in conjunction with the annual From Hiroshima to Hope commemoration on August 6.

Together, we will explore the history and significance of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, reflect on the impacts of nuclear weapons, and discuss the enduring lessons of peace, justice, and collective action. Hear from our panelists as we honor the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, survivors of nuclear weapons testing, and all victims of war and violence. Register for the webinar online.

Following the virtual panel, APALA Seattle will attend the From Hiroshima to Hope annual lantern floating ceremony at Green Lake in Seattle on Thursday, August 6, as a chapter in solidarity. We encourage everyone to participate in this meaningful tradition of remembrance and hope. The ceremony honors and promotes peace, with the hope that international conflicts can be resolved without violence and learn the habit of living in peace with all our neighbors on this earth. If you would like to attend the lantern floating ceremony with APALA Seattle, please RSVP by emailing seattle@apala.org.
