Walk the line with striking hotel workers

Join the picket line in front of Embassy Suites in Seattle before the Sounders F.C. game this Saturday

SEATTLE, WA (August 27, 2026) — UNITE HERE Local 8 is inviting supporters to stand with striking hotel workers this weekend for a community picket before the Seattle Sounders match against the Chicago Fire on Saturday, August 29.

The picket will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in front of the Embassy Suites hotel in Seattle’s Pioneer Square (255 S. King St.), steps from the stadium where the game will be played.

Workers have been on strike for more than two months, fighting for a contract securing year-round healthcare coverage, protections from ICE, fair raises, and a return to pre-pandemic staffing levels at the hotel.

“Workers need wages and benefits that allow them to survive in Seattle while providing hospitality to visitors to our city,” said UNITE HERE Local 8 president Anita Seth at a recent solidarity rally. “The cost of providing those is now much less than the hotel has lost by ignoring the needs of their dedicated staff. It makes no business sense.”
