Project HELP’s biennial, virtual workers’ compensation conference returns October 8

SEATTLE, WA (September 22, 2026) — Registration for the 2026 Meeting of the Minds on Thursday, October 8 is now open. Sponsored by Project Help — a Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO (WSLC) program offering free assistance to workers navigating the state’s workers compensation system — Meeting of the Minds is a biennial, virtual convening bringing together labor, business, workers’ compensation professionals, and others interested in Washington’s critical safety net for injured workers.

The webinar starts at 8:00 a.m. on October 8 with remarks from WSLC President April Sims and Department of Labor & Industries Director Joel Sacks.

Topics covered will include an overview of the mental health pilot program, return to work and on-the-job recovery, the process for evaluating newly contended conditions, and a comprehensive rundown of the ten things to know about industrial insurance appeals.
