Ralph Chaplin Gravesite Memorial at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 5 at Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum, 5212 70th St W. in Tacoma. Join the Pierce County Central Labor Council in celebrating Ralph Chaplin (1887~1967), a longtime labor activist, poet, author and songwriter, who dedicated his life to the cause of organized labor and is credited with writing the words of the internationally acclaimed anthem: “Solidarity Forever.”

Longtime labor lawyer Larry Schwerin passed away Aug. 9. For over four decades, Larry represented countless local labor unions throughout the Pacific NW as well as many international unions.
