Young union members invited to Spokane WA YELL events

PROOF2_YELLSPOKANE (Feb. 7, 2014) — If you’re a young progressive or union member in the Spokane area, here’s your opportunity to meet some fellow trade unionists, learn about important issues facing young working people today, and have some fun. Join with the next generation of the labor movement and their community partners at the growing Spokane chapter of Washington Young Emerging Labor Leaders (WA YELL).

The chapter’s next general meeting is Friday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at 1912 N. Division St. (Teamsters Local 690 Hall) in Spokane. This is where you can get connected with other progressive and like-minded individuals who will be strategizing and sharing what the Spokane chapter has planned for 2014.

Also, Spokane WA YELL is hosting a Watch Party of Robert Reich’s film “Inequality for All” on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. at 510 S. Elm St. (Operating Engineers Local/Spokane Regional Labor Council). The event is free, and family and friends are welcome.

For more information, check out Spokane WA YELL’s Facebook page or email Amy Cowin.

Young union members who live elsewhere in Washington state should get more information about the statewide WA YELL organization, which also plans fun activities, happy hours, events and actions. For more information, check out the WA YELL Facebook page or email Justine Winnie.
