Sisters in the Building Trades support their Sisters in Nigeria

(June 8, 2016) — The following is from the Sisters in Building Trades:

Our Sisters on the other side of the globe need our help and support to connect to their Sisters in the Building Trades, and further their work. Negucci Women In Construction & Technology in Abuja, Nigeria is a nonprofit teaching women and empowering them to work in the construction industry. We hit our first goal, and with the help of the Chicago Women in Trades, brought three representatives from Nigeria to the Women Build Nations Conference, where Patricia Bagudu spoke at the Global Tradeswomen workshop.

Funds will also be used to construct a 40 x 48 x 70 inch shipping crate to be filled with donations of tools and gear and ship it to Nigeria to help with the first Women and Youth construction apprenticeship program in Abuja. After that, funds raised will be set aside for future outreach and to bring one representative to Women Build Nations 2017 to continue our connection to our Sisters in Nigeria.
