Statewide GOTV efforts slated for Saturday, Oct. 29

With less than two weeks until Election Day, union volunteers are working hard to get out the vote among their fellow union members. That effort continues this Saturday, Oct. 29 in Vancouver, Olympia, Spokane and Mount Vernon. Make sure your union is represented at these important activities!

Neighborhood walks are planned at the following times and locations this Saturday:

MOUNT VERNON — Meet at 9 a.m. at the Steelworkers Hall, 47 Alder Lane, to pair up, get literature and your assigned neighborhood. You and your partner will visit other union members in the 10th Legislative District to distribute information about why Angie Homola and Doris Brevoort earned labor’s endorsement in their legislative races. Volunteers will be done by 1 p.m.

OLYMPIA — Meet at 9 a.m. at the WSLC office, 906 S. Columbia St. SW, to pair up, get literature and your assigned neighborhood. You and your partner will visit other union members in the area to distribute information about why Kelsey Hulse earned labor’s endorsement for Thurston County Commissioner. Volunteers will be done by 1 p.m.

SPOKANE — Meet at 9 a.m. at the Spokane Regional Labor Council, 510 Elm St., to pair up, get literature and your assigned neighborhood. You and your partner will visit other union members in the 6th Legislative District to distribute information about why Lynnette Vehrs and Sharlene Lichty earned labor’s endorsement in the 6th Legislative District. Volunteers will be done by 1 p.m.

VANCOUVER — Meet at noon at the Laborers Hall, 2212 N.E. Andressen, to pair up, get literature and your assigned neighborhood. You and your partner will visit other union members in the 17th Legislative District to distribute information about why Tim Probst and Sam Kim earned labor’s endorsement in their legislative races. Volunteers will be done by 4 p.m.

PHONE BANKS

Union volunteers are also needed on weeknights at the WSLC’s Seattle office, 321 16th Ave. South, for GOTV phone banking. Phone banks are from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday nights this week and next. That means volunteers are needed tonight (Oct. 26) and tomorrow (Oct. 27), plus next week on Nov. 1-3.
