Immigration Days of Action on Oct. 11-12 across Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. — We are in a critical moment in the fight for immigration reform in this country. Organized labor and other advocates for humane immigration policies are demanding that Congress prioritize the issue and create a clear path to citizenship for millions of working families this year.

“America’s unions are fiercely committed to transforming the lives of working people through bold, structural changes that remove all barriers to the right to organize, and we can’t do that without reforming our immigration system,” said AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler. “A broad, inclusive pathway to citizenship will help to raise standards for all workers and should be considered a core component of our economic recovery.”

TAKE A STAND — On Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 11-12, unions and other advocates for immigrants will come together across Washington state for two days of action to demand that Congress and Vice President Kamala Harris keep their promises and provide permanent relief and protection for undocumented workers and their communities — and to do it this year.
