Rally March 22 at Starbucks headquarters in Seattle

Let’s send a message to Schultz & Co.: Union busting is disgusting!

SEATTLE (Mar. 10, 2023)  — Starbucks CEO Howard “The Ducker” Schultz was facing a congressional subpoena before finally agreeing this week to testify before a Senate committee about his company’s illegal union-busting activities. They haven’t announced what day Schultz will appear in D.C., but we know what day he’ll be in this Washington.

On Wednesday, March 22, Starbucks corporate headquarters in Seattle will host a “Founders Day” event celebrating their billionaire CEO. Union members and supporters plan to be there as well for a part of their own that celebrates the real founders of Starbucks and its erstwhile progressive values: the workers.

Union supporters protest outside Starbucks headquarters in Seattle on Oct. 11, 2022.

TAKE A STAND — Let’s show Schultz & Co. what we think of companies that deny their workers basic rights! Join the workers’ celebration on Wednesday, March 22 starting at noon outside Starbucks headquarters at 2401 Utah Ave S. Please fill out this form to RSVP.

Starbucks employees formed Starbucks Workers United and have voted to join together at stores across the nation to negotiate for better wages and working conditions. For more than a year, these workers have raised their voices, cast ballots, and gone on strike to demand Starbucks respect their right to organize so they can tackle issues with pay, scheduling, and more.

Starbucks corporate, which posted $3.3 billion in profits last year, has responded with a brutal, bullying anti-union campaign of threats, intimidation, firings, store closings and refusing to bargain in good faith — becoming the most prolific union buster in U.S. history. National Labor Relations Board judges have found Starbucks guilty of at least 127 violations of federal labor law, with more than 1,000 more alleged violations still being adjudicated.

RSVP to attend the March 22 rally outside Starbucks HQ so we can send a message to Howard Schultz and his company that Starbucks cannot be an industry-leading, forward-thinking employer AND the country’s leading union buster.
