Pride at Work takes on Project 2025
Join Pride at Work for a strategy session focused on the impacts of Project 2025 on LGBTQ workers
WASHINGTON (July 25, 2024) — As organized labor stands up political work to defend and expand rights and opportunities for working folks, our movement is confronting existential threats to worker power. One such threat, a Heritage Foundation policy guide called Project 2025, lays out how a ultra-right wing, fascist agenda could be implemented by a sympathetic president on day one of a new term.
Project 2025 directly attacks working people from all walks of life — and lays out ways to further marginalize some workers, including queer and trans working people.
That’s why Pride at Work, the AFL-CIO’s constituency group building power for LGBTQ working folks and communities, is hosting a strategy session on Project 2025, and how to leverage the immense power of organized labor to defeat the fascist ideology of Project 2025. This conversation is open to all union members; all are welcome, and unions with LGBTQ caucuses are especially encouraged to join.
The Project 2025 Strategy Huddle will take place on Zoom on Thursday, August 1 at 5:15pm pacific. You can register at the link.
