Boeing Teamsters bargaining contract

On April 19, workers will either vote on a contract proposal or to authorize a strike

TUKWILA, WA (April 16, 2025) — Teamsters at Boeing began contract negotiations last week with the company, bargaining a new agreement covering the drivers that move parts for Boeing facilities in the Puget Sound.

In updates posted to their website, the union reports that negotiations are covering a wide range of priorities identified by the membership, including vacation, wages, holidays, and more. The elected bargaining team has been in day-long negotiations since April 9, aiming to secure a tentative agreement that meets the bargaining units’ demands by Saturday.

“On April 19, there will be a vote here at the Union hall,” said Teamsters Local 174 in a bargaining update. “Our hope is that we will have a complete contract proposal to recommend that you ratify. If the company delays and we do not have a fully-recommended offer by then, we will instead be voting to authorize a strike.”

After the Machinists’ strike against Boeing in 2024 ground production to a halt until the company agreed to fair terms, Teamsters who ensure essential plane parts move safely to, from, and around Boeing facilities have significant leverage.

So far, the negotiations have been efficient and productive, per the union, with the two sides exchanging over 100 individual proposals over the past few days. Daily negotiations will continue through this week.

The contract covering Boeing welders in the Puget Sound — workers represented by International Union of Operating Engineers Local 302 — also expires in 2025, in October.

Updates on Teamster negotiations at Boeing can be found on the Local 174 website.
