How to be a Troublemaker

Registration now open for the Puget Sound Troublemakers School in October

SEATTLE, WA (June 23, 2025) — Union members, labor activists, and local union officers looking to build skills and grow their networks have an opportunity this fall with Labor Notes’ Troublemakers School, a one-day conference designed to build solidarity and share strategies and inspiration to win.

Intended for unionists or all experience levels, this training covers fundamentals like contract campaigns, grievances, and strikes as well as more specialized content, like public sector bargaining and defending immigrant workers.

The Troublemakers School will be held Sunday, October 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at South Seattle College (6000 16th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98106). Registration is $30, with a $15 option for those who need it. While the session is in the fall, space is expected to fill up quickly and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

More information and registration can be found on the Labor Notes website

This one-day conference is sponsored by North Thurston Education Association, Machinists Local Lodge 2202, MLK Labor, OPEIU Local 8, Seattle DSA, SPEEA, Young Emerging Labor Leaders (WA YELL), and the Washington Labor Education and Research Center.
