‘No Kings’ rallies Saturday

Community-led rallies against authoritarianism are taking place across Washington state and the U.S.

SEATTLE, WA (June 11, 2025) — Thousands will gather Saturday to decry rising authoritarianism at actions timed to coincide with the Flag Day parade spectacle planned by the Trump administration in D.C. Rather than give air time to the pagentry, organizers are seeking to reclaim and reframe the patriotism weaponized by the administration.

Per the organizers, the No Kings actions are “in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.”

“We’re marching for our democracy, our constitution, and a government that serves the people, not Trump’s ego. We’re building a movement that leaves Trumpism behind. This Flag Day, we’ll remind everyone that the flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us,” said organizers in a press release.

The largest action is planned for Seattle, with rallies and marches also planned in dozens of cities and towns across Washington. MLK Labor Executive Secretary Treasurer Katie Garrow will be speaking at the Seattle action at Cal Anderson park from 12-3pm (register here), organized by the coalition that led the Hands Off protests in the spring that gathered 25,000 protestors at Seattle Center. Per organizers, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal will also be speaking. Pierce Central Labor Council Secretary Treasurer Nathe Lawver has endorsed the Tacoma event, and will be participating (register here).

Events are planned for Anacortes, Auburn, Bellingham, Bremerton, Bothell, Camano Island, Centralia, Chelan, Colville, Coupville, Covington, Des Moines, Edmonds, Ellensburg, Enumclaw, Everett, Federal Way, Gig Harbor, Issaquah, Kenmore, Kirkland, Leavenworth, Longview, Monroe, Moses Lake, North Bend, Olympia, Omak, Port Orchard, Port Townsend, Poulsbo, Pullman, Renton, San Juan Islands, Sequim, Shoreline, Spokane, Tacoma, Tri-Cities, Vancouver, Vashon Island, Walla Walla, Wenatchee, and more.

For those living near state borders, there are also numerous rallies in Idaho and Oregon. A full list of events is available on Mobilize.
