TAKE A STAND!
Resist with Pride
The following is from Pride at Work Seattle Chapter:
SEATTLE, WA (June 24, 2025) — June is Pride Month, and for many of us, that’s an occasion for celebration. This year, even as we celebrate, we also build resistance to attacks on our LGBTQ communities.
On May 24, right-wing Christian nationalists held an anti-queer rally in Cal Anderson Park, right in the heart of Seattle’s historically LGBTQ neighborhood. They followed up three days later with a rally at Seattle City Hall, in an attempt to intimidate the city government. And they threaten yet another anti-queer rally in August.
Far from protecting our communities against these threats, the federal government is actively promoting them. Seattle – the home of a large and diverse LGBTQ immigrant community – is being targeted by ICE for extreme enforcement measures. Legal protections for transgender students are being stripped away. And the US Supreme Court ruled on June 18 that transgender youth have no right to gender-affirming medical care.

Pride At Work and MLK Labor invite all our union sisters, brothers, and siblings to join us at this year’s Pride Parade in Seattle. Let’s show the organized right-wing that labor and our communities are one!
Bring your union banners and wear your union colors. We want people to see as many unions represented as possible.
The Parade will be on Sunday, June 29. The labor contingent will gather at the check-in booth at 4th Avenue and Madison Street in downtown Seattle and then proceed to our assigned spot in the lineup. Please gather between 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. We’re in the first bloc of marchers, so we should march soon after the 11:00 a.m. start time.
