WA Attorney General hosting Workers’ Town Hall

September event focused on protecting and defending Washington’s working families will be hosted in partnership with labor councils

LAKEWOOD, WA (August 18, 2025) — Amid a rapidly shifting federal landscape, Washington Attorney General Nick Brown is hosting a town hall event to speak directly with working Washingtonians about his office’s work shoring up workers’ rights and protections, and provide an opportunity to ask questions about how his office will address the everyday issues facing working people.

The September 2nd event at Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood is co-hosted by the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO and Pierce County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO and will be moderated by WSLC President April Sims. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the town hall will begin at 7:00 a.m. RSVP for the town hall here.

Attorney General Nick Brown speaks at the 2025 WSLC Convention in Vancouver in July.

The Attorney General’s office plays a pivotal role ensuring the laws that protect workers and our rights are followed. That work includes enforcing laws against wage theft, challenging harmful business monopolies, ensuring environmental protections are followed, evaluating impacts of artificial intelligence on working communities, enforcing the provisions of the Keep Washington Working Act — which safeguards local resources from being used to enforce federal immigration law — and more.

At the town hall, Attorney General Brown will share updates on his office’s work and take questions from the audience, focused on the ways his office is pivoting to protect and defend working families as federal legislation and presidential executive orders target immigrant workers, the right to organize, access to healthcare, and more.

Space is limited, and all attendees are encouraged to RSVP in advance.
