Teamsters secure Lineage contract

Sustained solidarity through months of negotiations, alleged ULPs nets workers a new three-year contract

SEATTLE, WA (September 3, 2025) — After a long, tough contract fight, workers at Lineage Logistics cold storage facility in Seattle have voted overwhelmingly to ratify a new three-year agreement after more than seven months of negotiations. While the company deployed tactics described by workers as intimidating and anxiety-inducing, Teamsters nevertheless stood together and secured a contract with significant improvements.

The contract contains wage and pension increases in all three years, improvements to working conditions, increased lead and foreman pay, and an annual boot allowance, reports the workers’ union, Teamsters Local 117.

Workers at Lineage had been working under an expired contract since March 31, and had previously voted overwhelmingly to reject what Lineage called its “last, best, and final” contract proposal in June. The workers were willing to authorize a strike over what Teamsters Local 117 believed to be unfair labor practices by the company, including direct dealing with workers over furloughs and unilaterally changing working conditions without bargaining.

Lineage Teamsters went so far as to publicly call on a top PGA golfer, Justin Thomas, to drop his sponsorship with Lineage Logistics in solidarity with the workers.

That sustained pressure campaign has now won the 45 workers at Lineage’s Michigan St. facility in Seattle a strong contract for the coming years.

“I couldn’t be prouder of our members at Lineage Seattle,” said Paul Dascher, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters 117. “They stayed united and fought valiantly against a company that dragged out negotiations for months. In they end, they prevailed, achieving a contract that respects their work – just in time for Labor Day.”
