“Classroom Labor” educator training
Training equips educators to teach workplace rights and collective bargaining in the classroom
SEATTLE, WA (June 3, 2026) — The Seattle University Collective Bargaining Education Project is hosting a day-long summer training for high school educators on incorporating workers’ issues into curriculum, co-sponsored by the UW Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies. The training walks educators through two simulations — a union election and a contract campaign — and provides educators with materials needed to run simulations like this in the classroom with their students. Local labor leaders and experts will also join the training, sharing real world context for the simulations.
The training is scheduled for Saturday, August 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sinegal Center on the Seattle University campus. Breakfast, lunch, and onsite parking will be provided. There is a $150 stipend for participants and participants can also receive clock hours through the Seattle University College of Education.
Participants can register at this link. The deadline for registration is June 7th. Questions? Contact Rob Hallock at robertvincenthallock@gmail.com.
