Rank-and-file speak out on governor’s race

The Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO, is conducting a series of interviews with rank-and-file union members — entitled “Labor Decides 2012” — to talk about who they support in Washington’s 2012 gubernatorial election, and why.

These videos are intended only for union members and their families, and are not being distributed to the general public.  If you are a union member, click here to access the videos.

Produced by WSLC Communications Director Kathy Cummings, these videos are an opportunity for trade unionists to hear from their peers about their reasons for supporting labor-endorsed candidate Jay Inslee and their reasons for opposing Republican Rob McKenna.

“We understand that union members will decide how they want to vote based on lots of different issues,” said WSLC Political Director Karen Deal. “But when it comes to bread-and-butter issues like good jobs, decent wages and benefits, health care coverage and retirement security, hearing about it from fellow union members in their own words is quite compelling.”

The WSLC continues to conduct these interviews, so check back to see the new additions. WSLC-affiliated unions that would like to have one or more of their members interviewed should contact Kathy Cummings via email or by calling 206-254-4909.
