AFGE, supporters urge Congress to protect Social Security

On Wednesday, Dec. 5, Local 3937 of the American Federation of Government Employees will lead actions at or near Social Security Administration (SSA) offices across Washington state to support Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. The message will be:

► No benefit cuts to Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid, including cost-of-living adjustments;

► No more SSA office closings, reduced service hours, pushing of Internet self-service, or staffing cuts; and

► Release the funding SSA needs to restore lost services working families have already paid for.

Labor and community organization members are invited and encouraged to participate, and bring banners and signs.  Representatives of organizations who would like to say a few words of concern and support are asked to contact the spokespersons at each site.
