Come out with Space Needle workers, community June 11

Allyship-LGBTQ-NeedleSEATTLE — Space Needle employees and their supporters in the community will COME OUT at noon on Tuesday, June 11 to support equity and justice at the Space Needle. Workers at the Space Needle have gone for two years without a union contract and are currently seeking guarantees for fair working conditions, including living wages, health care benefits, and job security.

Recently, 10 LGBTQ organizations, led by Allyship LGBTQ, also requested that the Space Needle fly the Rainbow Flag during Pride month, as symbol of striving for equity and justice in the Seattle community. The organizations encouraged the Space Needle to not only fly the flag, but also settle a fair contract for workers. Space Needle workers have returned the solidarity by wearing Rainbow buttons saying “Fairness for Everyone” at work.

On June 11, the Seattle community and workers will COME OUT to support equity and justice at the Space Needle. Pride flags will fly next to picket signs in a demonstration of LGBTQ and Labor solidarity.

Can’t make this event? Please sign this petition urging Space Needle management to fly the flag and to settle a fair contract with their employees.
