Sign petition urging respect for Macy’s Silverdale employees

ufcw-21SILVERDALE (June 27, 2013) — The employees at the Kitsap Mall Macy’s here have come together to form a union and join more than 1,600 Macy’s Northwest employees as members of United Food and Commercial Workers Local 21. But rather than respecting their right to form a union, the union says Macy’s management has illegally threatened and harassed these employees while subjecting them to dozen of anti-union meetings.

TAKE A STAND! The Organizing Committee for the Silverdale Macy’s has asked for support from labor and community allies in Kitsap County and around the state in fighting back against Macy’s illegal anti-worker tactics:

1) Please sign their petition demanding that management stop breaking labor law.

2) Also, you are invited to join the Macy’s employees as they deliver the signed petitions to Macy’s management at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29. Meet at the Kitsap Central Labor Council offices, 10049 Kitsap Mall Blvd. in Suite 105, and march to Macy’s to “Shop for OUR Cause.” RSVP at the bottom of the online petition.

For more information, contact Martin Babb at 1-800-732-1188 ext 6519 or MBabb@ufcw21.org, and on behalf of the 150-plus employees at the Silverdale Macy’s, thank you for your support.
