EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Jan. 31, 2014) — Thanks in large part to Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 191, the SeaHulk will be at MetLife Stadium to cheer the Seattle Seahawks to victory in Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVIII.

svh-seahulkThe union and the Cascade Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association stepped up when the body painters for the SeaHulk, Local 191 member Tim Froemke, crowdfunded their effort to fly to New Jersey to complete the 3- to 4-hour transformation necessary to create one of the Seahawks’ most recognizable front-row superfans.

Check out the Skagit Valley Herald story about the body-painting process, and all the great pictures of the Seahulk at Seahawks games.

The Seattle Seahawks players are affiliates of the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO via the NFL Players Association, and have been ever since their first season. They are the only pro sports team that has chosen to affiliate with the state’s largest union organization.

GO ‘HAWKS!!!

UPDATE (Feb. 4, 2014) — Let the record show that the Seattle Seahawks slaughtered the Denver Broncos, 43-8, for a start-to-finish victory that was never really in doubt.

Afterwards, the SeaHulk sent The Stand this photo of his back on Super Bowl Sunday so everyone can see that the body painters at ContoursFX.com gave IBEW Local 191 and the Cascade Chapter NECA credit where credit was due.
