March and rally to celebrate MLK’s legacy

MLK-march-on-washingtonSEATTLE — On MLK Day, Monday, Jan. 20, dozens of labor organizations — including a contingent of supporters of a $15 minimum wage in Seattle — with gather to march and rally to honor the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. The rally begins at 11 a.m. at Garfield High School, 400 23rd Ave., and the march leaves there at 12:30 p.m.

Union members should wear their colors, bring signs and finds their union groups or the $15 Now crew at around 12:15 p.m. before the march. For more info about the Seattle event, visit mlkseattle.org.

There are several other MLK Day events, rallies and marches planned across Washington state. Check your local newspaper for event details.
