Show your stuff at Labor’s Got Talent! on May 16 in Seattle

SEATTLE (Mar. 21, 2014) — Last week, we put out the call for unions to begin planning events for MayWorks, the annual month-long celebration of workers’ culture and history. This week, we are putting out the call for union members with a “hidden” talents.

singingAre you the next Aretha Franklin, but only your shower head knows you can hit that high note? Or maybe your specialty is stand-up comedy? Whatever the talent, we want to know about it and showcase it at the first-ever Labor’s Got Talent! Show.

Please join the Washington State Labor Council MayWorks Committee and AFT Washington for an evening to celebrate the many talents in the labor community at the Best Western Executive Inn, 200 Taylor Ave. North near Seattle Center, on Friday, May 16. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Please RSVP to attend for you and your guests here.

To ensure a rich, balanced show, please send us a description of your performance no later than May 1  as soon as possible to Tracey Whitten at twhitten@aftwa.org. Organizers will follow up with performers with additional details.

Please share this announcement with your fellow union members and, whether you intend to perform or not, mark your MayWorks calendar to attend what promises to be a fun evening of labor fellowship and entertainment.
