UPDATE (Oct. 31, 2014) — Costumed WA YELLers scared out the vote Thursday night in Seattle at the Labor’s Voice phone bank. There’s still more opportunities to volunteer for GOTV activities this weekend (see the schedule below).

SEATTLE (Oct. 28, 2014) — Just a week remains of organized labor’s get-out-the-vote efforts for an election that everyone agrees is all about getting out the vote. At stake in Washington, among other things, is whether the obstructionist Republicans who controlled the State Senate are again empowered to block all efforts to sufficiently fund our schools, roads, and other state services.

LV-day-of-action

Dozens of volunteers joined in the Oct. 25 neighborhood GOTV walk for Senate candidate Matt Isenhower in the 45th LD.

The Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO, its affiliated unions, and their community partners have lots of opportunities for GOTV activities in this final week to help get out the vote:

TONIGHT (Tuesday, Oct. 28) — Labor’s Voice phone banks are planned from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in Bellingham, Everett, Olympia, Seattle, Tacoma, and Vancouver. Click for details.
