1,100 healthcare workers go on strike in Pierce County

st-joseph-strike-14Nov18TACOMA (Nov. 18, 2014) — Pierce County needs quality, affordable healthcare and good jobs. Today, 1,100 healthcare workers are taking a stand to hold CHI-Franciscan to its responsibility to provide good care and good jobs in the community.

The workers, united in SEIU Healthcare 1199NW, delivered notice to CHI-Franciscan St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma and CHI-Franciscan St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood that they are conducting a 24-hour strike TODAY (Tuesday, Nov. 18). Get more details  at SEIU 1199NW’s site.

TAKE A STAND!  Rally to support healthcare workers of CHI-Franciscan St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma who are on a 24-hour strike Nov. 18. The rally is from 4 to 6 p.m. at the corner of 19th and “I” St. Support your brothers and sisters of SEIU 1199NW as the call for safe staffing ratios, a living wage, and quality health coverage.
