Rally Feb. 20 at Capitol for shared prosperity

15Feb20-Legislative-RallyOLYMPIA (Jan. 30, 2015) — The Washington State Labor Council, its affiliated unions, and community supporters of the 2015 Shared Prosperity Agenda will rally on the Capitol steps at noon on Friday, Feb. 20. BE HEARD! Join hundreds of public- and private-sector workers standing together to call for:

■  Investment in schools, transportation, infrastructure, and public employees;

■  Accountability from aerospace companies that get subsidies from taxpayers; and

■  An END to attacks on collective bargaining and other fundamental worker rights!

We want good jobs and shared prosperity to rebuild the middle class in Washington state!

This rally is being held in conjunction with the Washington State Labor Council’s Legislative and Lobbying Conference, which is open to all union leaders, staffers and rank-and-file members. The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20 at the WSLC’s Olympia office building, 906 Columbia St. SW. Attendees will be briefed on the status of important working family legislation, walk to the nearby Capitol campus to meet with district’s legislators, and then gather on the steps of the Legislative Building for the rally at noon.

The WSLC Legislative Reception will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Olympia Red Lion. This is a great opportunity to mix and mingle informally with state lawmakers and fellow union members. Click here for details on both events. Register online for the Reception and Conference or download a registration form.

Whether or not you attend the conference, ALL union members and community supporters are urged to attend the noontime rally on Friday, Feb. 20.
