7th CD debate Wednesday at Seattle Labor Temple

jayapal-mcdermott-walkinshawSEATTLE — Who will fight for workers’ rights at home and across the nation? It’s time to meet the community leaders who are stepping up to the plate and running for Congress in the 7th District, which encompasses most of Seattle, all of Vashon Island, Edmonds, Shoreline, Kenmore, and parts of Burien and Normandy Park.

Join the M.L. King County Labor Council and Working Washington as they invite State Sen. Pramila Jayapal, County Councilmember Joe McDermott, and State Rep. Brady Walkinshaw to make the case for why they should represent the 7th CD in Congress, filling the seat of retiring U.S. Rep. Jim McDermott. This candidate debate will be Wednesday, March 16 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Seattle Labor Temple, 2800 First Ave. in Seattle.

Organizers say they’ll be asking tough questions on their records on securing workers’ dignity, fighting bigotry and building strong community and labor movements. Who has the power and the plan to win on the issues that affect working people most?
