Join candlelight vigils Saturday to reject Republican health plan
(March 14, 2017) — The Trump administration and Republicans in Congress are making an all-out push to repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace it with a plan that will cost an estimated 24 million Americans their health insurance coverage. If they’re successful, they would eliminate essential health care and Medicaid for hundreds of thousands of people here in Washington state.
This Saturday, March 18 at 7 p.m., labor, faith and community groups in the Hear Our Voices coalition will hold candlelight vigils in cities throughout Washington to demand that our state’s Republican members of Congress vote NO on the ACA repeal bill.
Our U.S. Representatives have a responsibility to protect the health and safety of their constituents who rely on the ACA for basic care. The Republican health care proposal doesn’t just repeal the ACA — it slashes Medicaid funding and reduces access to quality care for seniors, women, and people with disabilities — just to fund billions in tax breaks for the rich.
Please make plans to join us at one of the following candlelight vigils on Saturday at 7 p.m. to make your voice heard about health care and Medicaid:
ISSAQUAH (Reichert) — Veterans Memorial Park, 120 2nd Ave. NE. RSVP and get details.
