Trades workers: Fill out survey about your childcare needs

OLYMPIA (April 28, 2021) — The Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council has convened a Child Care in the Trades Task Force to bring together the voices of apprentices, apprenticeship programs, the child care provider system, education, employers and other workforce stakeholders to identify the specific child care barriers impacting apprentices in the building and construction trades industries.

Click to download and share this flier. Also available in Spanish.

As part of that important work of identifying and promoting solutions to address their unique childcare needs, the task force needs to hear from workers in the trades.

Are you in the building and construction trades and dealing with childcare issues, dealt with childcare issues previously, or are not impacted yet, but may be in the future? What is working?  What needs to be fixed? What are your ideas that would be helpful for other workers to think about?

TAKE A STAND — Now is your opportunity to identify the specific childcare barriers impacting workers in the trades industries. Please take this important Child Care Needs Assessment survey — also available in Spanish, Russian, Thai and Vietnamese. By taking the survey, you’ll be entered for the chance to win one of several $50 Fred Meyer gift cards that will be given out throughout the survey period.

Please complete the survey by Friday, April 30.

If you have questions, please feel free to email Shana Peschek or Kairie Pierce.
