Urge against faculty, staff cuts at Clark College

The following is from the Southwest Washington Central Labor Council:

VANCOUVER (April 26, 2021) — Clark College has announced that it is planning on 5 percent budget cuts, and that these cuts will include faculty and staff. At the same time, the college has received funding and will receive more funding specifically to help education institutions avoid laying off employees.

TAKE A STAND — Please take a moment right now to support Clark faculty and staff by:

●  Writing the Clark College Board of Trustees and President Sr. Karin Edwards through the Washington Education Association’s web site. (Click here for more background information.)

●  Sharing their situation through social media and/or on your website. (Click here and here for background info.)

●  Attend the Board of Trustee’s meeting on Wednesday April 28 at 5 p.m. and share your concerns. (Zoom link and other meetings details will be posted here.)

Let’s remind the Clark College Board and president that our community stands with the people working at Clark College — take action today, and please share this information with your friends, family and fellow working people in Clark County.
