Teamsters 117 reaches tentative agreement with Darigold

The following is from Teamsters Local 117:

TUKWILA (Aug. 5, 2021) — Teamsters Local 117 has achieved a tentative agreement with Darigold over a 4-year contract covering about 190 production warehouse workers at the facilities in Issaquah and at Rainier in Seattle. The agreement is fully-recommended by members of the union negotiations committee. Teamsters at Darigold will vote on the proposal on Saturday, August 14th.

“After Darigold Teamsters picketed for two days, the company came back with a proposal responsive to our issues, which comes fully recommended by our union bargaining committee,” said Tracey Thompson, Teamsters 117 General Counsel. “We will be meeting with our members by the end of next week to present the proposal and take a vote.

Workers at Darigold Issaquah plant make butter, sour cream, yogurt, and cottage cheese, while workers in Seattle process hundreds of thousands of pounds of milk every year, supplying Costco and Walmart stores across the Pacific Northwest, as well as many Washington schools.

Teamsters Local 117 represents 17,000 workers across Washington State, including 260 at Darigold facilities in Issaquah and Seattle some of which are drivers and have ratified their contract last year.
