Join MLK Labor’s primary canvasses to support pro-worker candidates

SEATTLE (July 10, 2023) — This year is a big one for county and city elections, and Washington’s AFL-CIO central labor councils are gearing up now to support pro-worker candidates and ballot measures in the primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

MLK Labor invites all union volunteers in the King County area to attend the following canvassing events in support of the council’s endorsed candidates:

Saturday, July 15 — Door-Knocker’s Choice Canvass for Seattle Council Incumbents (Lewis, Strauss, Morales). Meet at 10 a.m. at the Seattle Labor Temple, 5030 1st Ave. South in Seattle.

Saturday, July 22 — Canvass for Teresa Mosqueda and Kate Kruller. Mosqueda is running for King County Council, District 8 and Kruller is running for Mayor of Tukwila. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Sullivan Center, 14350 Tukwila International Blvd. in Tukwila.

Saturday, July 29 — Canvass for Teresa Mosqueda and Maren Costa. Costa is running for Seattle City Council, District 1. Meet at 10 a.m. north of Delridge Community Center, 4501 Delridge Way SW in Seattle. This canvass will be followed by a 2 p.m. celebration with Mosqueda and Costa at Ounces Taproom & Beer Garden, 3809 Delridge Way SW in Seattle.
