Tentative deal at Kaiser Washington averts strike
SEIU Healthcare 1199NW members join Kaiser workers across nation voting on contract

RENTON, Wash. (Oct. 31, 2023) — Kaiser Permanente Washington and SEIU Healthcare 1199NW announced Monday that they have reached a tentative agreement for a new 4-year labor contract. With this tentative agreement, SEIU Healthcare 1199NW withdraws its notice for a strike scheduled to begin this week and will join 11 local union members of the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions across the country in voting on contract ratification.
National Bargaining between Kaiser Permanente and the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions concluded on Oct. 13, 2023. Bargaining with SEIU Healthcare 1199NW in Washington continued to address issues in local bargaining.
Voting begins Nov. 1. Out of respect for the ratification vote process, details of the agreement will be made available after the ratification vote concludes. If ratified, the agreement will have an effective date of Nov. 1, 2023.
The tentative agreement reached between Kaiser Permanente Washington and SEIU Healthcare 1199NW on Monday, Oct. 30 complements the tentative agreement reached by the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions on Oct. 13.
