The five day training is packed with opportunities to expand organizing, mobilization, activism, and public speaking skills

SPOKANE, WA (April 6, 2026) — The Spokane Regional Labor Council and the Washington Labor and Education Resource Center are partnering once again to bring the Rank & File School to Spokane. A five day intensive course, the Rank & File School is designed to expand union members ability to engage in workplace activism and build power with their coworkers. The School will be offered Wednesday, April 22 through Sunday, April 26 at the UA Local 44 Plumbers & Steamfitters Hall (3915 E Main Ave, Spokane, WA 99202).

The five-day course typically covers internal organizing practices, mobilizing members and engaging in union and political advocacy, and tips for compelling public speaking. Coursework may also touch on labor history, how to effectively lead in union spaces, and best practices for navigating union meetings.
