Got insurance? Sign up by Jan. 15

OLYMPIA, WA (January 9, 2025) — Open enrollment for health insurance through the Washington Health Benefit Exchange ends next week on Wednesday, January 15. Those who do not yet have health insurance for 2025 are encouraged to visit wahealthplanfinder.org or call 1-855-923-4633 to learn more and enroll into a plan. Language assistance is available in over 200 languages.

All plans on Washington Healthplanfinder cover essential benefits, including doctors visits, trips to the emergency room, and preventative care. Signing up for coverage is straightforward; answer some questions to determine eligibility, and then browse available plans online to find one that fits your needs.

Washingtonians are eligible for coverage through plans on the Exchange regardless of immigration status. The following information from the Washington Health Care Authority explains two options with enrollment ending Jan. 15:

  • DACA Recipients: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients and other people with qualifying immigration statuses can buy health insurance and qualify for advance premium tax credits through Washington Healthplanfinder. The annual open-enrollment period ends Jan. 15, 2025. Note: The Dec. 9 federal court decision blocking DACA recipients in 19 states from accessing health coverage does not affect DACA recipients in Washington state.
  • Immigrants who are undocumented: Immigrants who live in Washington can buy health insurance and qualify for Cascade Care Savings, the state premium assistance program, through Washington Healthplanfinder. They do not need U.S. citizenship, a green card, a social security number or other immigration papers. The annual open-enrollment period ends Jan. 15, 2025.
