Rallying for Families First

Join SEIU locals and Washington community groups for actions decrying the federal administration’s attacks on working people and tax giveaways for billionaires

SEATTLE, WA (July 18, 2025) — Rallies are planned across the U.S. on Saturday, July 26, calling out recent federal legislation and actions from the White House that have gutted essential programs like Medicaid, FEMA, food stamps, school lunches, and more, all so a handful of billionaires can get tax giveaways.

The “Families First” actions are endorsed by the Service Employees International Union; in Washington, the list of community organizations supporting the day of action include Fuse Washington, OneAmerica, and Planned Parenthood.

In Seattle, SEIU 6, 775, 925, and Healthcare 199NW members and local partners will rally at Victor Steinbrueck Park. These locals are inviting members and allies to join together to speak out against the wave of coordinated attacks from the federal administration threatening workers’ healthcare, livelihoods, and our democracy.

Actions are also planned in Bremerton, Everett, Vancouver, and Yakima along with several more in Oregon; readers outside the Seattle area can find a full list of actions on Mobilize.
