LERC offering Spokane labor school
The Washington Labor Education and Research Center is bringing a one-day labor school to Eastern Washington
SPOKANE, WA (August 21, 2025) — This fall, the Washington Labor Education and Research Center (LERC) will be offering an opportunity for union members to build their skillset to be an active participant in the labor movement. The Spokane Saturday Union Members School (Spokane SUMS) will take place Saturday, November 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Spokane Falls Community College.
Here’s LERC’s description of the one-day labor school: “Join union members from across Eastern WA and Idaho to learn how to make our unions, communities, and organizations stronger and more effective! The one-day school will feature workshops to build your skills as a union member, covering topics including organizing around grievances, interpreting contracts, building power in your workplace, organizing in your community, and much more. The day will also feature panel discussions with movement leaders, community strategy sessions, and chances to socialize with union members from diverse sectors. The school is open to rank and file union members, officers, and staff.
