Elect pro-worker candidates with Labor Neighbor
The WSLC’s powerful member-to-member field campaign to encourage union families to support pro-worker candidates is kicking off this month
SEATTLE, WA (September 16, 2025) — As the adage goes, there are no “off-year” elections. Indeed, as actions at the federal level threaten essential freedoms — our economic freedom to have quality jobs that sustain our families, the freedom to join a union, the freedom to vote, and even our freedom to access health care — active participation in elections in Washington state is all the more essential. The union vote is vital for electing pro-worker candidates here at home. It’s why we need to make sure that union families understand what is at stake this year.
That means it’s time to volunteer for Labor Neighbor.
Labor Neighbor, the grassroots member-to-member political action program of the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO, engages union members to inform fellow union members and their families about the candidates who earned labor’s endorsement — and why they earned it. (Here’s the list of WSLC endorsements for the 2025 election.)
“Right now, as unions are under attack and essential services are being cut, it’s vital that working people direct our path forward,” said Osta Davis, WSLC Political & Strategic Campaigns Director. “The beauty of Labor Neighbor is that this program offers both an opportunity for union members to make our voices heard and a way to build community and connection with one another, one conversation at a time.”
Door-knocking and phone-banking opportunities kickoff at the end of September with a first walk in support of Rep. Edwin Obras in the 33rd legislative district on Saturday, September 27.
TAKE A STAND: Sign up to join a walk near you — and you can also sign up to join virtual phone banks, from anywhere in the state.
