Help feed working families this holiday season

As families gather together for the holidays, here’s a few ways labor siblings can support fellow workers in need of a helping hand

(November 18, 2025) — Furloughs, missed paychecks, and SNAP benefit delays have left lingering impacts for many working people in Washington. Labor unions and allied organizations are working to ensure no family goes hungry over the holidays. Check out these food drives and if able, consider donating to keep working families fed.

 

Washington State Building & Construction Trades Council
Donations collected until Nov. 24

Donations can be dropped off at the WSBCTC office (906 Columbia St SW, Ste 107, Olympia, WA 98501) or at UA Local 44 (3915 E Main Ave, Spokane WA99202)

 

IBEW Local 76 Emergency Food Network Drive
Donations collected until Nov. 30

IBEW 76 is collecting food and funds for Emergency Food Network. Between now and November 30, you can donate non-perishable food items in the drop box at the hall, leave monetary donations at the front desk or donate online.

IBEW 76 is located at 3049 S 36th St, Tacoma, WA 98409.

 

IAMAW Local Lodge 282 & Kitsap Democrats Community & Union Thanksgiving Food Drive

Donations can be brought to Local Lodge 282 (822 Park Ave, Bremerton) by appointment through November 22. Get more details and to make a drop-off appointment

Volunteers are also needed for the Community & Union Thanksgiving Dinner (Facebook Event)

Donations support local union families at Christmas.
