Healthcare workers in Pierce County to picket Tuesday

Community Health Care workers are fighting for a contract that raises wages and improves working conditions

PIERCE COUNTY, WA (January 26, 2026) — Community Health Care workers represented by SEIU Healthcare 1199NW will hold informational pickets on Tuesday, January 27 at numerous locations in Tacoma, Lakewood, Spanaway and Puyallup. Workers are currently in contract negotiations, advocating for a collective bargaining agreement that lifts wages, maintains current benefits, and ensures a fair disciplinary process across clinics.

Informational pickets are scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on January 27, with four locations in Tacoma, and one each in Lakewood, Spanaway, and Puyallup. More information is available online.

*Please note, the picket at 11225 Pacific Ave S in Tacoma will be held from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
