Nursing home workers reach TA
Staff at six nursing homes across Washington are now voting on a tentative agreement securing significant wage gains
CAMAS, WA (March 30, 2026) — Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) providing care in multiple towns in central and southwestern Washington have secured a tentative agreement on a new contract, guaranteeing wage increases of at least 8% over the duration of a two-year contract. The union workers are now voting on whether to accept the tentative agreement.
Care staff represented by SEIU Local 775 have been bargaining for nearly a year, seeking better wages and better staffing. The caregivers work at multiple nursing homes in rural communities across Washington: LaCamas Creek Post Acute in Camas, Mountain View Post Acute in Ellensburg, Richland Post Acute in Richland, Sunnyside Healthcare Center in Sunnyside, Linden Post Acute in Toppenish, and Colonial Vista Post Acute in Wenatchee.
All of the facilities are part of PACs Group, Inc. a $6.7 billion holding company based in Utah that pulls profits from more than 300 post-acute care facilities in 17 different states.

Throughout negotiations, care workers fought for more competitive wages, seeking to lower turnover and improve staffing. As the frontline workers providing patient care, CNAs know that high turnover and staffing gaps endanger the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable residents at post-acute care facilities.
In a news release announcing the TA, workers shared why fair pay was their top priority in negotiations.
“The cost of living keeps going up. But the wage scale hasn’t kept up. Winning fair pay helps us keep and recruit skilled staff and that benefits all of us, staff and residents alike,” said Angel Cabrera, who works at Sunnyside Healthcare Center. “We are people caring for your family, friends and neighbors. When we make livable wages, that money circulates in our local community, supporting our area small businesses and families. My fellow nursing assistants and I are proud of the hard work we do. We know we make a positive difference in the health and the lives of nursing home residents.”
If staff ratify the TA, they will see wage increases between 8%-11%–depending on location and job classification–over the life of the two-year CBA.
“Because of our union, we were able to leverage our collective power to win the fair wages and respect we deserve,” said Natacia Louvier, who works at LaCamas Post Acute in Camas, Washington. “Living wages mean better staffing, and increase our ability to provide quality care and protection for the residents we love. We want our community in Camas to understand that frontline caregivers take pride in caring for their loved ones.”
